Back to a single review, today we will be looking at a newcomer by Dickies, which is also a first-time brand in any of our selections and reviews. Because of this, we will first learn a bit more about the brand itself and then move on to the jacket.
Dickies is an American brand established in 1918 in Texas, which manufactures and sells outdoor clothing and accessories, with a focus on work-related designs rather than just fashionable ones.
Nowadays, you can find this brand’s products not only in the 50 states of the United States, but in numerous other countries all over the world.
The jacket we selected for this single review is the Insulated Eisenhower model. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Where To Buy The Dickies Eisenhower Jacket
Here is a list of the various online shops from different countries where you can purchase the jacket:
When To Wear It
We picked this particular jacket because it is quite a versatile design that can be worn in different occasions and works with many outfit styles, from rocker to casual-business.
However, the original intent is that of a service jacket, as it comes in a looser cut than in a typical jacket, so there will be plenty of freedom during movement, also there is a pen pocket on the left sleeve for easy access.
Another design detail is the minimalistic style of the jacket, which comes without any overbearing logos, so as to give the jacket a more professional and serious look.
This is a hoodless model, with a spread collar and a full-length, uncovered main zipper. On both sides there are two slanted pockets for the hands and for carrying small belongings. The cuffs on the sleeves can be either worn opened or buttoned on the back, whichever is more comfortable to you.
The hem is not elasticized, so watch out for strong and cold winds as they might get through. However, despite not being elasticized, the hem is adjustable on the back with buttons and tabs, so that it can fit a bit tighter and keep you well-protected.
This is a jacket that tends to run a bit big because of the loose cut, which makes it perfect for layering underneath in colder weather and if you are big around the middle.
While this is a men’s jacket, because the style is so clean and sleek, it could be worn by working women, too, as you can see from different online reviews, so that’s an interesting thing to note.
First and foremost, we must mention that this jacket is very sturdy and well-made.
The outer layer is a poly-cotton blend at a 65 to 35 ratio, which helps give it water and wind-resistant abilities.
Other than being water-resistant, the outer layer is also water-repellent which further protects against the elements. However it is not fully waterproof, nor does it come with a hood as we mentioned, so keep that in mind if the weather is unpredictable and you will be spending a lot of time outdoors.
The inner lining is made of Nylon taffeta and quilted to PU foam, which helps insulate the jacket and add to its durability as well. For this reason, this is a versatile jacket when it comes to temperatures as it can be worn in mild and cold temperatures.
Because it also leaves plenty of room for layering underneath, it is perfect to wear throughout autumn, winter and early spring.
Being a service jacket, bold colors are out of the question, so what’s left is the classic ones, more suitable for professional environments.
This is not an issue, however, as toned-down colors are great for matching with different outfits, not to mention that you will always look well-dressed.
The colors Eisenhower comes in include:
- Dark brown,
- Dark navy,
User Reviews, Feedback & Opinions
While a lot of times online reviews cause confusion either because there are too few or because they differ greatly from each other, this is not the case for the Eisenhower insulated jacket by Dickies.
With more than 1000 online reviews, it’s pretty clear to see what type of quality we are dealing with.
First and foremost, this is a very stylish jacket for both in and out of the workplace. It is well-made and the design is quite appealing, so what you see in the picture is exactly what you are getting.
Weather-wise, it performs very well and it is a considerably warm jacket, but definitely requires layering if you live in colder areas. It withstands light raining effortlessly and it is somewhat wind-resistant, but not to a great extent, so keep that in mind.
The pockets are quite sizeable, which is a plus considering this is a service jacket and you might have to carry things around with you.
An interesting remark from some of the reviews is the option to personalize this jacket by adding patches onto it, because it lacks logos of its own.
The affordable price is another plus for this design, whose downside is only the fact that it tends to run a bit big due to the cut, so watch out for that.
A very stylish and versatile jacket, Eisenhower is worthy of consideration by those on the lookout for a well-made jacket that can be worn in the workplace or out on the streets as a fashion piece.
