The North Face’s Gotham III and McMurdo III parka jackets are highly insulated with 550-fill goose down and feature DryVent 2L shells that offer waterproof and windproof protection. Their primary differences lie in their length, sleeve cuff adjustability, and suitability for different winter conditions.
The North Face Men’s Gotham Jacket III
Gotham III is a parka made of Nylon on the outside and lined with Polyester taffeta fabric on the inside. It is a heavily insulated jacket due to the 550-fill power goose-down insulation.
The collar is hooded and quite high, with the hood having faux fur trim around. In this way, your face is kept protected from cold winds. The hood is also adjustable, to ensure it fits properly on the head.
The outer membrane is DryVent 2L, which is waterproof and windproof, so you won’t have to worry about the down insulation getting wet and losing its abilities.
The design is minimalist, with four outer pockets on the body and one on the left sleeve. There are inner pockets, too, one of which is media-compatible. A storm placket covers the main zipper and the bottom hem is elasticized.
The North Face Men’s McMurdo Parka III
McMurdo III is also made of DryVent 2L for the outer shell and lined with Polyester on the inside. This is an incredibly warm parka, with a high collar and faux fur trim lining the hood.
The sleeve cuffs are adjustable with Velcro fasteners and four oversized pockets are on the outside.
This is a breathable jacket, with a waterproof and windproof shell and insulated with 550-fill goose down. It is a long jacket that covers the back completely, so it is more suitable for harsh and unstable weather, as well as for those who work outdoors.
Because the shell is weatherproof, the down insulation won’t be affected despite the weather conditions.
