Are Reebok Running Shoes Good? (My 5+ Years Experience)

Are Reebok Running Shoes Good? (My 5+ Years Experience)Pin

I would define myself as an amateur runner. I run 2-3 times per week both light running (for cardio) and sprints. I do sprints because I also like to play soccer and I’ve noticed that sprints help me, but that’s not the point of this article.

Before I received my Reebok running shoes as a gift in 2016, I was using a pair of shoes from some general, not famous brand. As soon as I put the Reeboks on, the difference was noticeable.

In this article, I’ll tell you about my 5+ years of experience with my Reebok men’s running shoes (yes, the same pair of shoes) by answering some common questions and showing you some pictures of my now old shoes.

You can also ask questions in the comments section at the end of the article.

Let’s begin!

Are Reebok Running Shoes Good?

Ok, let’s get this out of the way first.

Yes, Reebok running shoes are very good because they are very comfortable, they are breathable, they are durable, and they are affordable.

The comfortability comes from their thick outsole which (I think) is made of foam, and provides great cushion, especially in the heel area.

The breathability comes from the upper composition made with a mix of mesh fabric, leather, and plastic. The mesh fabric lets the foot breathe during warm and hot weather in spring and summer.

As for durability, they’ve lasted me over 5 years and I’m still using them. Yes, they look old and ugly as they have some tears on the upper, but they’re still good for running.

Take a look at the pictures in this article and judge by yourself: of course, you can’t use them to make fashionable photos for your social media accounts, but you can use them when you’re deep in your favorite city park running at high speed.

When it comes to price, my girlfriend bought them as a gift for me in 2016. She paid around $50! Pretty affordable, I’d say!

Is Reebok a Good Running Shoe Brand?

Named after the Grey Rhebok antelope which is known for its speed, Reebok catches your attention from the first time you hear the brand’s name.

Founded in 1958 in Bolton, United Kingdom, Reebok has a long history of producing quality sports footwear. It has also been owned by Adidas at some point during its history (from 2005 to 2022) which has integrated its long experience in performance footwear into Reebok’s products.

Reebok provides comfortability, lightness, and durability, at a fair price. A great running brand to wear on your feet in my opinion!

Are Reebok Running Shoes Comfortable?

Yes, Reebok running shoes are very comfortable thanks to their thick foam outsole that gives you great cushion and doesn’t tire your feet. Add to that the breathability of the mesh upper and you’re good to go running in your favorite park or city street.

They’re so comfortable that in the beginning, I used them also to go grocery shopping, for walking in the city, etc.

Are Reebok Running Shoes Durable?

Yes. Reebok running shoes are very durable. I have a pair that I’ve been using since 2016 for running 2-3 times per week. We’re talking over 5 years of use. I do both cardio and sprints, and they’ve been pretty consistent in their performance since day one. I also use them to do various exercises, mostly calisthenics.

Can Reebok Shoes Be Used for Running?

Sure. Reebok shoes can be used for running if they’re made specifically for running. This is usually true for every footwear brand: you can’t use a pair of thin sneakers and expect your feet to not hurt after doing 30 minutes of sprints.

Also, you can’t expect a pair of casual sneakers (if you run with them) to last as a pair of running shoes.

Are Reebok Running Shoes Lightweight?

Yes, in general, Reebok running shoes are lightweight if you ask me and the many online reviewers. The model that I own (see pictures) has been very light since the first day I’ve put it on.

Are Reebok Running Shoes Waterproof?

Usually, Reebok running shoes are not completely waterproof. However, they can resist light rain for some time. I’d say they are lightly water-resistant. The pair that I own, because of its mesh upper, can resist a few minutes of light rain.

Reebok has some waterproof models that use a Gore-Tex lining, but they are for walking and trail running and are a bit heavier.

Are Reebok Trainers Comfy?

Yes, Reebok training shoes are very comfortable thanks to their lightweight and thick outsoles. They are also breathable, adding to the overall health of the foot after a hard exercising session, or a long run.

Are Reebok Running Shoes Worth the Price?

Definitely. Paying around $50-70 USD for a pair of running shoes and having them last for more than 5 years is a good investment in my opinion. As you can see from the photos, my pair has many wears and tears but is still going strong.

Do They Run True to Size? Do Reeboks Run Small or Big?

Reebok running shoes run true to size in general. I’ve had the same experience with my pair. I have a men’s 43 EU size and my Reeboks fit me very well.

Do They Need a Break-in Period?

Reeboks don’t have any break-in period if you get the right size for your foot. From the first time you put them on, you’re good to go. They offer out-of-the-box comfortability for running. However, over time (mine are 5+ years old) my pair has become a bit larger so I’ve had to adjust the lacing.

Conclusion
