Comparing brands that make some of the best jackets and outdoor gear has become a regular part of our work in this site.

We have looked at several ones that come up in searches and recommendations as “the best brand”, namely Arc’teryx, Patagonia, The North Face and many more.

Brand comparisons, we find, are a good way to learn about their history and then look at the differences between their manufacturing process, production philosophy and products.

Today we will continue with another brand comparison, however, the focus will not be on jackets this time, but on backpacks.

We have recently started to feature more backpack-related topics and discussions, such as washing a The North Face backpack, or how to wash a polyester one without damaging it and even compared backpacks to rucksacks to see if there are differences between the two.

In that comparison, we also mentioned several brands that make great backpacks, and both Osprey and Deuter made it into the list.

Which brings us to today’s comparison between the two.

Through the past years that we have been writing brands and compiling selections, jackets and brands that make great jackets have been the focus of our work.

It is time to change things up a bit and start looking at other outdoor gear that are essential for having a safe and enjoyable time when out in nature.

Today it is a discussion on bags that are meant for travelers, hikers, campers and everyone else who has something to carry when out and about.

As per the title, we will be looking at backpacks and rucksacks. Our intention is to compare the two and to learn more about their history, use and determine which one you should go for.

It is the season for adventures here in the Northern hemisphere, as the heat and sun make it a great time to explore and spend time outdoors.

Many of us enjoy sunbathing by the sea, but a great deal of people prefer the woods and mountains. In this heat, who can blame them?

If you are part of the latter group, the importance of quality clothing and gear is well known to you.

However, before purchasing anything, many turn to online forums and reviews to determine which brand they should go for.

Deciding on the brand can be as important as the actual product you are looking for, because variables such as quality, price and design vary considerably from brand to brand, making the search tedious at times.

That is what we are here for, to introduce you to some of the best brands for outdoor adventures. We have looked at it a bit differently, as a matter of fact.

Instead of just going through one brand (we have done that as well), we prefer comparing the big names to each other in order to determine which of the two would make the better choice.

Today we will do that very same thing, by looking at Eddie Bauer, a brand that has been previously featured in our comparisons, and L.L. Bean, a newcomer.

Coats in the middle of July are not something most people concern themselves with. Well, that is not the case for us.

In our efforts to find the best jackets and gear for your next adventure, we are constantly on the lookout for jackets that pique our interest.

Our numerous selections, reviews and comparisons of jackets are proof of our work and today we will further add to that collection.

We have done several jacket comparisons in these past few months, including comparisons of jackets by the same brand, such as the Arc’teryx Alpha vs. Beta and Thorium vs. Cerium comparisons.

It is time for another comparison between a brand’s products and we have picked the beautiful Montreal and Montreaux coats by Marmot.

High quality and expensive clothing come in all shapes and forms. They vary in design, style, colors, embellishments and, ultimately, in the materials they are made from.

Any of us can list a number of fabrics and materials that are well known for their high price tag. Silk, Cashmere and Merino are only some of those that would make the list.

We have yet to look at Silk, but Merino was recently featured in one of our comparisons and Cashmere is part of this one.

Today, per the title, we will take a look at these two popular types of wool, Merino and Cashmere.

We will learn more about their origin, their use and the differences between the two, in the hopes of understanding their purpose better and the reasons why they are expensive.
